1960 : Birth of the farm campsite at Lann Hoëdic

In the '60s, dairy farmers Mr. and Mrs. Rio opened their fields to the first campers. Without any facilities, tourists made their own dry toilets and shower facilities. The farm products (milk, vegetables and poultry) were sold on site. This was the beginning of tourism on the family land ...

In 1972, the first facilities were introduced, a cold shower and dry toilets and barbecues were held for campers. In 1975, a toilet block with hot showers was built. Year on year, the popularity of the Site grew to the point where further development was required.

2000: developement

In 2000 Mr & Mrs Rio retired and planned to close the Site. Their daughter Mireille had married British born Tim and after returning from working in Australia, they decided to take over the management of the farm and the campsite continuing the tradition... A new reception area was built followed closely by two new modern toilet & shower blocks.
From 2002 to 2004 twenty mobil-homes were added in a dedicated landscaped area, with earlier units being replaced in 2010. All units will be replaced as needed to maintain the high standard of accomodation. The current site possesses a rating of three stars with modern well maintained clean facilitites located in a pleasant landscape with many trees, bushes and flowers. The campsite was distinguished by achieving the 2006 national "Camping Quality" brand "Qualité Tourisme" acreditation. In 2008, the campsite was awarded the “Quiet Campsite of the Year” title by the readers of Camping and Caravaning Magazine.

Today, La Ferme de Lann *** Hoëdic maintains its environmental approach and achieved the Green Key label in 2010. The recognition of our green heritage has been achieved by the owners and of course our clients, and we are confident you will continue to help us maintain our commitment to the environment.
